Adopt-a-Green-Space

In partnership with the City of Brevard, The Yard has adopted the green space between the Ecusta Trail and Railroad Avenue and is transforming it into a thriving native meadow and habitat.

 

This long-term restoration project features a diverse mix of native wildflowers, grasses, trees, and shrubs, including black-eyed Susans, coreopsis, milkweed, mountain mint, little bluestem, pawpaw, serviceberry, black gum, and more. All chosen to support pollinators, birds, and local wildlife. Native meadows take time to establish, changing and growing with each season, but every year brings new blooms and increased biodiversity.

 

We're grateful to Appalachia Land Care Company for helping design and create this special space, and we're excited to continue restoring native beauty along the trail for our community to enjoy.
